What it does to the file
- Takes out who you did not ask for
Pick the trade you are after and the wholesalers, showrooms and everything unrelated move to a rejected list — with the reason next to each one, so you can check the rules rather than trust them.
- Merges the same firm listed twice
A business that paid for a listing usually appears again underneath it for free. The paid one hides the real website behind a click tracker, so the free one is kept and the fact they are paying is kept as a tag.
- Cuts the keyword padding out of names
A listing called "Northgate Electric Ltd – Domestic Electricians & Commercial Electrical Services" is a firm called Northgate Electric. Names come back as the name, and the original is kept in the notes.
- Puts every number in one shape
Phone numbers, websites, addresses and ratings all come out written the same way, so a sort or a mail merge behaves. Tracking junk on the end of web addresses is removed.
- Loses nothing
Anything it rewrites is kept word for word in a notes column, and anything it throws out goes to a second file. If a rule is wrong you can see it and undo it.

Questions
Does my file get uploaded?
No. It is read by your own browser and never sent anywhere. You can turn your data off after the page has loaded and it still works.
Will it find email addresses for me?
No, and anything that says it can do that in a web page is not telling you the truth. Reading somebody else’s website needs a server, not a browser. Any email addresses already in your file are kept and tidied up.
Why are some rows marked to check by hand?
Because the category was close but not certain — a firm listed as a general contractor might do the work you want or might not. Those are kept, not binned, and marked so you can decide.
It threw out one I wanted. What now?
Open the rejected file — the reason is written next to every row. Usually it is a word like "supply" or "store" in the business name. Tell us and we will fix the rule.
Is there a limit on how big the file can be?
Only what your phone can hold in memory. The table on screen shows the first two hundred rows to stay quick, but every row is in the download.
Can I use this to send cold emails?
Be careful. Marketing to businesses is regulated and you have to identify yourself and honour an unsubscribe. Ringing someone whose number is published for that purpose is a different thing from adding them to a mailing list.
Ringing round works until the list runs out
A clean list is worth calling. It is still you making every call, though, and there is a bottom to it. If you would rather the enquiries came to you, that is the job. Fifteen minutes to find out whether it fits.
